php-net-socket software package provides PHP PEAR Network Socket Interface module, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install php-net-socket
php-net-socket is installed in your system.
Make ensure the php-net-socket package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep php-net-socket *
You will get with php-net-socket package name, version, architecture and description in a table
